I am a DONA certified doula.
This means that I have had extensive training, and prioritize continuing education to keep my certification. Please explore the DONA website! As a DONA doula I will help you prepare for birth based on your unique wants and needs. Building a birth plan, making informed decisions, exploring your options, risks and benefits discussions, tips on communicating with your provider, childbirth class options, pain management and comfort techniques, we will cover it all!
I am also a trained postpartum doula.
This means I will support you after the birth of your baby and can help you navigate those first few months. The experience of breastfeeding, and raising our seven children with little to no family support as a military wife has made me passionate about giving new families the very best start! We will prepare for postpartum as well as for birth! Your mental and emotional well being are just as important as your physical health. Breastfeeding, scheduling, meal planning, and ways to get adequate rest are just a few of the topics we will cover to prepare for the months following birth.

Testimonials

Rachel was everything you could hope for in a doula and more! She is kind, courteous, thoughtful, caring, supportive, professional, and a wealth of knowledge ?? She provided so many helpful tips and methods throughout my pregnancy, labor (TENS unit!), breastfeeding (battling mastitis), and postpartum journeys! She was an invaluable resource for my family as we prepared for and welcomed our 3rd baby, but even more than that, she became a trusted friend and mother figure to me. I cannot recommend Rachel enough!!!

Rachel was fantastic! My wife has had a fairly complicated history with her first two pregnancies and Rachel made sure she understood all the details so she knew how to help us advocate for our third pregnancy and to be aware of thing that may be triggers. She helped us right from day one with understanding what options we had available to us that no one else had shared. She supported our personal preferences and encouraged us to speak up for what we wanted. Her presence throughout the pregnancy was so reassuring. The exercises, stretches, and strategies she taught us really helped my wife through labor and a speedy recovery. No narcotics, no epidural, no tearing. Mom and baby were more aware and alert immediately following the birth and recovery was so much smoother than our first two. Not to mention, she helped me understand my roll as a husband and how best to advocate for my wife and son.

I couldn’t have wished for a more supportive and kind doula than Rachel! Rachel helped me feel prepared and confident before birth with breathing techniques, bodywork to get baby into a good position, laboring positions, and ways my husband can support my comfort. When the day came, her presence was everything I needed to have the birth I had hoped and planned for! Rachel goes above and beyond for her clients and I never want to birth again without her by my side!
